Baby Massage Group Classes

Welcome,

Join our group baby massage class in Langley, designed for parents and caregivers of infants 2 weeks to 12 months. In this class you’ll learn safe, soothing techniques to help support your baby’s sleep, digestion, bonding, and emotional well-being — all taught by a licensed massage therapist with a specialized certification in the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM).

The class includes hands-on instruction, time for questions, and take-home resources so you can confidently use what you learn at home. Your instructor will be demonstrating each stroke on a demo doll at the front of the class. You’ll follow along with your own baby, practicing at your own pace. We go slow, with plenty of time for feeding, soothing, or cuddling - because real life with babies is welcome here.

Here is what you can expect to learn:

Massage for the Legs and Feet + Gentle Movements

Massage for the Stomach and for the Relief of Colic / Gas

Massage for the Chest and Arms

Massage for the Face and Back

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Baby massage has shown some incredible benefits but to name a few: it can reduce colic, helps babies sleep longer, reduces stress for both parents and babies, boosts relaxation hormones, aids parents in recovering from postnatal depression, and builds confidence in parenting skills.

  • Learning along with other parents from an Infant Massage Instructor is a hands-on, interactive and personal experience. Infant Massage instructors teach each of the strokes one-by-one so you will feel comfortable and confident that you are doing them correctly.

Infant Massage Instructors also help you understand your baby’s responses and can help answer any questions you may have about touch, bonding/attachment and other topics.

  • Introducing touch can start soon after birth. Start with skin-to-skin care. This involves placing your baby on your chest to facilitate close contact between you and your baby (dads love this!). By following your baby’s cues, looking for signs of being quiet and alert, you can begin massage during the first few weeks after birth and then gradually develop a nurturing routine that will last a lifetime.

  • We actually encourage this so you can further work on your massage skills and make other connections with parents in the area.
