They will then conduct a physical assessment which can include observing your posture, range of motion testing, and palpation to locate areas of tension or injury. Only after this is complete will the therapist begin the treatment itself with different massage techniques aimed at decreasing your symptoms. Please note that temporary soreness is normal, especially after your very first visit.

  • A follow-up session typically requires less time for an assessment but it is important to know that we treat every client as an individual and if symptoms have changed or new information is presented, it would be unethical to not pay attention to these details. We work as quickly as possible to get straight into the treatment after receiving the information we deem most valuable to provide the most effective session for you.

Kinesiology - ICBC

  • Your first session with a kinesiologist is focused on gathering information about your health and fitness, establishing goals, and starting you on a personalized exercise program. The follow-up sessions is when you will be taken through your exercise program, ensuring they’re done correctly and that you’re keeping up with the homecare that’s provided.

You can schedule your ‘initial ICBC session’ with us using your ICBC claim number.

Consistency.

Each session is tailored specifically for your injuries to help you get better faster. Routine visits are essential in the healing process. Make sure to pre-book your sessions.

Graduation.

The goal is to get you back to the health you were in prior to the accident to the best of our abilities before we send you on your way and close the claim.

ICBC Frequently Asked Questions

  • After your initial session it is a good idea to set up recurring visits that suits your availability as well as your therapists’ to help keep your recovery on track. After receiving a claim number, you can book up to 12 sessions in the first 3 months since the date of the motor vehicle accident. There are no limits of visits per week but the recommended amount will be discussed with your practitioner based on your injuries. ICBC does not allow multiple sessions of the same modality on the same day. For example, a customer can book a massage and kinesiology on the same day; however, they cannot book a massage in the morning and in the evening on the same day.

  • Yes! ICBC allows one session per healthcare service on the same day. You won’t be able to have 2 massage sessions on the same day.

  • If your recovery is taking longer than expected we will need to reevaluate the treatment and see how it can be adjusted to help get you on track. ICBC will need to be contacted to approve more sessions before any further treatments can be provided.

  • ICBC will not cover any sessions that were scheduled and missed that violated the cancellation policy. The full fee will be charged to the individuals account. It’s important to make the necessary arrangements to ensure no booked sessions are missed.

  • We offer direct billing to ICBC to help take some of the stress out of managing those bills for you.
