Initial Session vs Follow-Up
The initial session of massage Therapy requires extra time for a comprehensive assessment, which involves gathering details about your medical history, concerns and goals. Aditionally, the therapist may need extra time to explain the massage process, answer questions, and ensure your comfort. Allocating more time allows for a thorough and personalized experience, setting the stage for effective treatment in future sessions. The 80-minute session is encouraged for initial visits to allow plenty of time for the therapist to understand your needs and provide an effective treatment for your first time visit.
In a follow-up massage therapy session, expect the therapist to reassess your progress and adjust the treatment plan accordingly. They'll tailor the massage techniques to address any ongoing concerns or new areas of focus. Throughout the session, communication is encouraged to ensure your comfort and satisfaction. Afterward, you may receive additional self-care recommendations and discuss the frequency of future sessions based on your current condition.
